History
Phillypeds.com was started in 2002 by Manish Butte, then a third-year pediatrics resident at CHOP. Manish has gone on to become a fellow at Boston Children's. Following Manish, Ed Behrens continued to manage and grow the site. Joel Friedlander was the third resident to run the website on a voluntary basis.
In 2006, recognizing the great capabilities of the website as a portal for residents, fellows, and attendings, and the limited ability of resident-volunteers to maintain and grow the site, the chief residents, Megan Aylor, Evan Fieldston, and Sanjeev Swami, directed a large overhaul project. The PhillyPeds you see now is a result of this process, which is ongoing. It is currently being maintained by the Chief Residents, Todd Florin, Paul Aronson and Heidi Werner as the functional and educational online home for the residency program.
